We’re performing some of the stories from Patchwork Lives and the story-gatherings as part of OXJAM Mansfield this Saturday from 12pm in and around the Town Square. There will be much singing and shenanigans in true Arletty-style, so we look forward to seeing you there!
We’ve been a bit quiet because its been incredibly busy over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been promoting the November tour, and we’ve had lots of meetings to talk about new projects, as well as my becoming one of the steering-group of NETworks (Nottingham Emerging Theatre Works), along with the fabulous Manya Benenson and Nic Harvey. I’ve also been speaking to the wonderful physical theatre director Kitty Winter, and acro-performer Ria Ashcroft (of the groovy Gramophones) about the development of our new piece of “circus-theatre”, Girl On A Ladder. Exciting times ahead, so look out for things on the horizon…
Also, very exciting news regarding our company and its development. We would like to welcome a new company-member! Louise White has just graduated from Dartington, and is a very talented individual. I’m delighted to welcome her aboard the good ship Arletty. She’s coming along for Oxjam on Saturday, which is great. Can’t wait to work with her!
I’ve been meeting groups in Lowdham and Carrington this week to promote Patchwork Lives, which has been a huge pleasure, (except when I lost my glasses – they’ve been found now by the good folk at the Ship Inn in Lowdham, so hurrah!) I’ve spoken to Lowdham Horticultural Society, their WI and the Knitting Circle, and I’ve dropped in on the Patchwork Group at Sherwood Skills Workshop, and their Cookery and Jewelry Groups. Great to meet so many interesting creative people.
