Bramcote Strawberry Fayre

Bramcote Church Tower

We were at Bramcote Church Tower for their Strawberry Fayre yesterday, on a glorious day. The tower is all that remains of the mysterious ‘sunken church’, and dates back to the 1200’s. It’s a beautiful atmospheric site, with a history intermingled with ghost stories and scandal  – the perfect combination!

Everyone is working to use Heritage Lottery funding to conserve the site and retain its stories. Their enthusiasm and dedication is really inspiring, and they were a pleasure to talk to. We can’t wait to go back!

Thank you to Moira, Peter, David, Sheila and Jack. Below is an image of the tower’s beautiful Bat Window.
